The Food

There are a lot of great sandwhich options made with fresh local bread and cheese. In the summer they often use their own garden-grown fruit and they always have a collection of bizarre yet tasty vegetables I haven’t seen anywhere else. White peppers, yellow watermellon, stringy salad in a tasty vinegrette. It’s quite the adventure. The cheese is fresh and creamy, and you can get the sandwhiches heated so the cheese gets melty or at least marshmallow-over-a-fire-consistency. It’s pretty much a cheese, sandwhich and coffee shop. Perfect for a nice lunch when out shopping nearby. It closes too early for supper unless you go on friday when it’s open until 9. 

The sanwhich I ordered was a little hot, the fruit fresh, and the favlors inventive. The panini had a bit of chives which was an unexpected but pleasant flavor.

I overheard some passing people sound disapointed that they had mostly sandwhiches so I’ll warn you it’s probably not for meat-lovers and keep in mind it is a bistro which means sandwhiches, and good coffee.

The Atmosphere

Outside: There are a few tables outside on the sidewalk of a quiet side-street, under the awning or in the sunshine. 

Inside: If you walk past the cheese counter theres a bunch of chairs seated around oak-cask tables in a sometimes-bustling little atmosphere with a chalk-on-blackboard menu. Cozy. Casual.

The Service

Good service, very quick. Waiters are polite and helpful. It’s usually not very crowded depending when you go.

Value for the Money

Most dishes are reasonable, It should cost about 7$-$20 per person for coffee and entree. Good sized portions, none of these dinky one-bite dishes or 4 people feasts.

Taking into account that is is a bistro it may be a smidge above average but average doesn’t have home-made cheese, fresh bread and fresh vegetables so I think it’s worth it.
